Conductor Michael Stern will join the Edmonton Symphony as Artistic Advisor and Conductor, beginning in the 22/23 season. In this newly-created, three-year position Stern will conduct several programs a season, and will collaborate with the ESO team on artistic planning, fundraising, community engagement and more.

The brilliant Juilliard String Quartet (JSQ), which celebrates its 75th anniversary this season, has named violist Molly Carr to its ensemble, filling the void left by the passing earlier this season of the quartet’s much-loved former violist Roger Tapping. Carr (Juilliard BM ’09, MM ‘11) is on the Pre-College faculty at The Juilliard School, and with this appointment, joins the Juilliard college faculty. She also serves on the faculties of the Manhattan School of Music and Bard College Conservatory.

On June 1, the Monterey County Symphony Association announced the appointment of Jayce Ogren as the next Music Director. The Monterey Symphony, which presents concerts at Carmel’s Sunset Center, recently celebrated its 75th anniversary. Jayce’s tenure begins in Fall 2022.
