Catching up with Jayce Ogren
At the end of April, conductor Jayce Ogren led the Monterey Symphony (where he is in his 2nd season as Music Director) in a concert featuring works by Adolphus Hailstork, Britten, Part, and Vaughan Williams.
He returns to Monterey this week to lead their season finale featuring Mahler Symphony No 5 on Saturday May 18.
Catching up with Stefan Asbury
On Saturday April 13 conductor Stefan Asbury made his Carnegie Hall debut leading Frankfurt’s Ensemble Modern. The exciting program, curated with Debs Composer Chair Tania León, featured works by León and Christopher Trapani interspersed with transcriptions of Nancarrow’s Studies 6, 7 and 12. As a special encore, Asbury led the world premiere of one of Ennio Morricone’s final works, in per i 40 anni (2020).
